Phoenix Rising

Once upon a time, I thought I was fine

That everything was alright, and I’d survive

Oh, once upon a time, all I did was cry

But never in your sight, I kept it locked up tight

Then you came in from nowhere trying to make things better

Yeah, you said they’d be better, after while

And goodness knows that I should have known better

Than to trust a devil in the guise of angel

Pull me under, let me drown in your lies

Because struggle as I might, I’m stuck in your eyes

Yeah, hold me under, let me drown in your strife

To never get a life, stuck in your eyes

But I will rise

The second time you shoved my face into the dirt

And I tried to make it work, but not anymore

So I push and I shove and I squirm to escape this fate

Pass through the demon’s gate

To stand on my own two feet again

But you struggle and pull me down back to a time before

Where I was a docile bore,

And I can’t go back there any more

But you pull me under and let me drown in your lies

Because struggle as I might, I’m stuck, stuck in your eyes

Yeah, hold me under and let me drown in your strife

To never get a life, stuck in your eyes

But I will rise

Above everything that you thought I should be

This life is mine, there was never a ‘we’

Let go of the past so that I can be me, me

So you pull me under and let me drown in your lies

And struggle as I might, I’ll escape the pain in your eyes

Try to hold me under and let me drown in your strife

But I will get a life, nevermore in your sight

And I will rise

NaNoWriMo!

As a writer with a manuscript, it’s rather difficult to find someone willing to take a look at it, even if you know all the right people. Sadly, I do not know them, and that may or may not have attributed to the low amount of sales my first novel has suffered from. It won’t deter me from my writing though, as I actually enjoy writing this series. The subplots in this one will be deeper, the characters a lot more vibrant, and the story telling even more compelling than before.

I will be participating in the NaNoWriMo this November, in order to complete the second novel in the Tales of the Firewing series, “In Gaea’s Favor (Book II)”. I can only hope that my work will draw in more readers than I had in the past.

For now, my first novel, “Guardians of Gaea (Book I)” is available on Smashwords for $3.99! The link will be posted below:

Ghost of Love

White lilies surround me
In this field of lonely times
I feel your presence right beside me
And it takes all not to cry
Your silhouette
Your glowing smile
Your vast intellect
You’re everything to me
Ease my suffering
When I’m a mess
I’m at my worst
While you’re at your best
These petals began to fall
When you went to your rest
There’s shadows on the wall
When the sun’s at my breast
Your soulful eyes
Compassion and desire
You suffered in this world
From all the sins that transpired
I’m no religious man
But I would change my ways
If I could take your hand
And recreate my past
But that was then
This here’s the now
Absence makes the heart break when you know they’re not returning to you.

Individual Happiness.

The potential for forgiveness is always there, it just takes time for adjustment most often than that. People aren’t accustomed to changes that don’t line up with their inclinations, especially those that are more inclined towards religion and its negative aspects.
2005-06 was a blur for me, mostly because all I recall is my Mum and Da getting into a fight with me because of my not meeting their expectations. When I say ‘expectations’ I mean that I didn’t want to do what they wanted me to do, nor was I ever (and I still am not) planning on getting married to a male/female/tree/whatever. From there, we didn’t talk for over a 5 year period, and it was all due to the fact that I wasn’t who they wanted me to be. Things settled, and I ended up making changes that led to me wanting to further my education again, and if I didn’t make the call I did WHEN I did, I wouldn’t be attending college for free today. We reconciled after a good week of consistent talking, and while it was a rocky return to living with them (we argued a lot and it got especially bad when I tore my rotator cuff), things are pretty good between us.
Unless your parents are selfish/psychopaths, I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t accept you as you are, even if it takes some time. They should hopefully realise that they are not you, and your sexuality doesn’t affect them in any way whatsoever because each person has their own life to live.
Individual happiness should not be relative to familial happiness.

Summer Break!!!!

Whoo! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I’ve been a bit busy lately. I won a poetry contest that was sponsored by the college I attend (I had no idea I was going to be in it until after I walked in late from taking a test). I’ll link you to the poem I wrote that won below!

I’ve also been working on a few novellas that will be expanding the view of the Anteran and Aetherian universes. They will provide back stories and insight to characters both old and new. Since I’m out of school and searching for a part time job, I figure that in the mean time this is something that I will be focusing my time on. One of the novellas will be free, while the other one will be $1.99. They won’t be released in full until September, while the second book in the Firewing series will be released in October.
Also, let me apologise for being away for too long. I’ve been a busy birdy, haha.

The first chapters of each novella will also be linked below.
